We travelled to Westray off season and there are few places open to have a bite to eat. We spotted this place in passing and popped in. It was a very welcoming place with an owner who was very friendly and informative about the islands. He was engaging and really interesting to talk to - and the tea, coffee and cake was pretty good too. This cafe appears to be open all year round, so do go in if you're nearby.

Thank you everyone who reviewed and said the carrot cake was excellent, it did not disappoint! Had a lovely time chatting and having tea and cake before our ferry. Really nice to meet Paul.

I dropped in for coffee and a sandwich which were fine. The highlight was a relaxing half hour chat with Paul who runs the place with Linda. If you're visiting Westray from Kirkwall for a few hours, this place is just a few minutes walk from the ferry landing. Highly recommended.

We visited here while waiting for the ferry back to the mainland. We had some warm drinks and OMG the best home baked rolls I have ever had....I'd travel there for a lunch time cheese roll every day if I could! Interesting history of the place it is named after also. Definitely pop in if you are nearby
